Spiritually Speaking

I have noticed a tendency in myself when I get busy that I am trying to undo. A sort of default habitual way of being that falls well short of who I want to be in the world.

This past weekend, in spite of the pouring rain, hundreds of Bahá’ís, along with friends and well-wishers, attended a musical drama honouring the message of Bahá’u’lláh, on the occasion of the 200 th anniversary of His birth.

This year, on this very day, Bahá’ís around the world are celebrating the 200 th anniversary of the Birth of Baha’u’llah, the prophet-founder of the Baha’i Faith.

I recently attended a workshop about faith. The faith about which I am learning is both my theological faith (what do I mean when I say “God”?) and my lived faith (how do I live this journey called LIFE?).

As I write this our part of the family has just returned from Comox, where we gathered for a Thanksgiving feast of food, fun and story-telling.

In the Anglican tradition here in Canada there is a gorgeous image within our baptismal covenant; that is, that we are to “seek and serve Christ in all persons.

Starbucks is buzzing. Drifting among the sounds of garbled voices is the constant grinding, banging and pounding coming from the baristas behind the counter. Busy people are coming and going.
