2022 Civic Election - Sooke

Maja Tait is returning for another term as mayor of Sooke, easily turning back challengers Mick Rhodes and John Knops with 72 per cent of the vote.

In Sooke, 26 names are on the municipal election ballot, three for mayor and 23 for six council seats.

There are 202 candidates running for a spot on the capital region's 13 municipal councils. Add those hoping to become school trustees or CRD directors and the total rises to 264.

There are seven candidates in each of the Sooke School District's two trustee electoral areas.
