Saturday’s Times Colonist published various numbers about the economic impact of cruise tourism in Victoria that were launched at a recent Greater Victoria Harbour Authority press conference.

Well, when it comes to writing about my weigh-ins…I have seriously been slacking off - sorry about that.

In 2010, Bill Bennett was B.C.’s mines minister and was ignoring all information regarding Taseko Mines Ltd.’s Prosperity Mine proposal for Teztan Biny (Fish Lake) — except for the claims made by the company itself.

Here we go again. Just days before a federal panel is expected to release its findings on Enbridge’s Northern Gateway pipeline proposal, a second company filed an application Monday for a similar project.

With his boyish plump face and bouffant hairstyle, he looks rather inoffensive, a person many might consider of little importance to others.

I wasn’t sure I’d write this post, mostly because I didn’t want it to be mistaken for yet another “war on Christmas” diatribe. Because those make me extremely uneasy.

It was meant as a gag; a satirical lampoon in the grand old political tradition of using a crazy stunt to gain attention.

So. No more the Jolly Postman.

As the Christmas season advances, so do the opportunities to eat, and sound nutrition is not always top of mind. Good intentions are easily pushed aside by the abundance of treats, to be resurrected post-holidays as remedial resolutions.

Holiday menus and tasty treats figure largely at this time of year. Already, the festive dinners and seasonal parties have begun. Groaning boards are groaning, and horns of plenty are plentiful and overflowing.
