Yacht damaged after running aground near Swartz Bay

Two people were unhurt but their boat received significant damage after a grounding near Swartz Bay this evening. The 46-foot yacht, based in Canoe Cove, ran aground on a shallow reef at 5:50 p.m.

Two people were unhurt but their boat received significant damage after a grounding near Swartz Bay this evening.

The 46-foot yacht, based in Canoe Cove, ran aground on a shallow reef at 5:50 p.m.

The Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue from Ganges arrived and pumps were used to bail out the boat so it could be towed back to the marina.
