The MV Coho returned to its regular Victoria-Port Angeles schedule Monday after an accident caused a four-hour delay Sunday.

The ship’s 3 p.m. sailing Sunday from Victoria was delayed after a truck struck a beam while leaving the ship after it arrived from Port Angeles and caused the door to not shut.

Foot passengers walked around the ship pointing and taking photos as repair crews closed down the loading ramp to deal with the problem.

Traffic was backed up along Belleville Street from the entrance of the ferry terminal to Menzies Street as customers were unable to enter the terminal. The door was fixed at about 6:25 p.m., with passengers cheering as they were finally allowed onto the ship.

The ship finally left Victoria just before 7 p.m.
