Sidney Sparkles Christmas Parade
The Sidney Sparkles Christmas Parade starts at 5 p.m. Sunday along Beacon Avenue.
The parade route begins along Resthaven Drive and turns onto Beacon Avenue. It continues to run the length of Beacon Avenue, turns right onto Second Street and ends at Ocean Avenue.
There is no parking along the parade route.
Several B.C. Transit routes will be on a detour between 3 and 7 p.m. Sunday, including 70 Swartz Bay/Downtown, 72 Downtown, 81 Sidney/Butchart Gardens, 83 Sidney/Royal Oak and 85 North Saanich. A temporary bus stop will be set up on Beacon at Seventh.
Esquimalt Celebration of Lights
Esquimalt’s Celebration of Lights runs between 5 to 7 p.m., with a parade that starts from the corner of Esquimalt and Canteen Road and ends at the Archie Browning Sports Centre.
After the parade, there will be hot chocolate, Christmas treats, hot dogs by donation, music and a visit from Santa.
The 15 UVic/Esquimalt and 25 Maplewood/Admirals buses will be on detour from 5 to 10 p.m.
Sooke Santa Parade
As dusk settles, Sooke Road will come alive with festivities starting at 4 p.m. at Evergreen Mall with crafts and activities.
The Sooke Santa Parade runs from 5 to 5:45 p.m. with festivities continuing after the parade at Evergreen Mall until approximately 6:30 p.m.
Sooke Road will be closed from Charters Road to Otter Point Road from approximately 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with a detour in effect.
