The Cat in the Hat and other popular characters from Dr. Seuss's books come to life with Seussical, opening Friday at the Metro Studio. Seussical is a 2000 musical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty that played Broadway. The Victoria production, staged by Saltwater, stars Joseph Bulman as the Cat in the Hat. John Pen-noyer, who has worked with Alberta Theatre Projects, has designed bold costumes using tie-dyed leggings and a feathered tail spanning the length of the stage. The show,
directed by Joanne Houn-sell, runs at Metro from Friday until Oct. 27, with a mix of matinées and evening shows. It's recommended for audiences ages four and up. The $25 tickets can be purchased at the McPherson box office (250 386-6121). saltwaterinc.ca.
