The Westshore Rebels and Okanagan Sun could get a preview of a possible B.C. Football Conference playoff semifinal meeting when the clubs meet today to close out the regular season at 1 p.m. at Westhills Stadium.

The Rebels are 7-2 and have second place clinched. They are guaranteed to host a playoff semifinal game next Saturday at Westhills Stadium against the third-place finisher. That could either be the Sun (5-4) or the Vancouver Island Raiders.

The Raiders are 5-5 following Saturday’s 13-6 victory over the Fraser Valley Huskers of Chilliwack (2-8) at Caledonia Park in Nanaimo.

If Okanagan beats or ties Westshore today, that will set up a repeat meeting in the playoff semifinals at Westhills. If Westshore beats the Sun today, that will set up an all-Island semifinal derby against the Raiders at Westhills.

The Rebels edged the Sun 16-13 in their previous meeting in the regular season at the Apple Bowl in Kelowna.

The undefeated and defending-champion Langley Rams (10-0) won the regular-season crown and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs and will host either the Sun or Raiders in the semifinals next Saturday in Langley.

The Huskers and Kamloops Broncos (0-10) will miss the playoffs.

The Cullen Cup B.C. FC championship game takes plave on Nov. 2. The B.C. FC champion will host the Canadian Bowl national championship game on Nov. 16.
