The Victoria Royals traded forward Anthony Wilson and blue-liner Luke Shipley to the Brandon Wheat Kings on Thursday in return for forward Teydon Trembecky and a third-round selection in the 2023 WHL prospects draft, a fifth-rounder in 2024 and a fourth-round pick in 2026.

The five-foot-11 Trembecky, 17, has one assist in 19 games for the Wheat Kings this season.

“Teydon brings qualities we really covet in a player, and we have been following his development,” Royal GM and head coach Dan Price said in a statement.

“He is also in an important age group for us which helps create roster balance this year and over the next two to three years. The draft picks provide flexibility this year and in coming years.”

Wilson has nine goals and 18 points in 81 career games for Victoria over two seasons. Shipley has five goals and 26 points in 103 career games for the Royals over three seasons.

The Royals will play the Regina Pats and Connor Bedard, the consensus top pick for the 2023 NHL draft, on Saturday night at Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre.
