The visiting Penticton Vees defeated the Powell River Kings 3-2 at Hap Parker Arena on Wednesday night to claim the Fred Page Cup in four straight games.

Former Victoria Grizzlies winger Wade Murphy had a goal in the victory and led the entire B.C. Hockey League playoff scoring race with nine goals and nine assists in 15 post-season games.

Murphy was traded to Penticton at the Jan. 10 deadline. Earlier this week, he was also ranked No. 142 by Central Scouting for the upcoming 2012 NHL draft.

Former Grizzlies' defenceman, Nick Buchanan was also traded to Penticton at the start of the season. He scored in Game 3 for the Vees, who now await the victor of the Alberta Junior Hockey League final between the Brooks Bandits and Fort McMurray Oil Barons to start the Doyle Cup.
