Spectrum, Dover Bay win B.C. boys' high school basketball championships

Saturday games at Langley Events Centre

Three Island teams played in B.C. boys’ high school basketball championship games Saturday at the Langley Events Centre.

Second-ranked Spectrum, making its first appearance since the 1990s, defeated the Tamanawis Wildcats of Surrey 92-72 in the Quad-A championship game for their first ever title.

Oak Bay, ranked No. 1 heading into the provincial championship tournament, defeated the West Vancouver Highlanders 85-53 in the Quad-A bronze-medal game.

The Dover Bay Dolphins defeated the Mennonite Educational Institute Eagles of Clearbrook 75-61 in their final to win the provincial Triple-A championship.

Brentwood College lost 71-64 to the Collingwood Cavaliers of West Vancouver in the Double-A championship game.
