Pacific FC on Thursday unveiled its alternative third jersey, to be worn for special games, including its 2024 Canadian Premier League season-opening game April 13 at Starlight Stadium against the HFX Wanderers of Halifax. The jersey is designed by Coast Salish artist Maynard Johnny Jr.

Known as the Resilience Kit, it features the salmon, a symbol of resilience and perseverance among Indigenous Peoples in Canada.

“The salmon represents resilience and that reminds me of Indigenous people surviving oppression in Canada,” Johnny said in a statement. “This jersey will create awareness and raise questions among Canadians about how we can make a positive change and inspire our youth.” Johnny has also designed PFC third jerseys for previous seasons.

The jerseys are on sale, with $20 from each sale going to Indigenous-based organizations such as Hope and Health, and the Indian Residential School Survivors Society.

PFC unveiled its primary home and away jerseys for the 2024 season, which denote Island cities and towns, last month.
