Murtagh leads Clippers past Grizzlies

The Nanaimo Clippers defeated the Victoria Grizzlies 5-3 in a B.C. Hockey League game Saturday night before 1,439 fans at the Q Centre. Mike Murtagh, committed to the NCAA Div. 1 UConn Huskies, led the Clippers with two goals.

Mike Murtagh, committed to the NCAA Div. 1 UConn Huskies, led the Clippers with two goals. Reegan Hiscock, Malcolm Green and Nathan King replied for the Grizzlies.

Nanaimo (26-18-3) moved into fourth place with the win, leaving the Grizzlies (26-21-1) in fifth place in the Coastal Conference battle for home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
