The Minnesota Twins are hunting for another B.C. baseball star like Justin Morneau, and theyve acquired the services of Victorias Gautam Srivastava to help them in their goal.
Srivastava, the general manager of the Victoria Eagles of the B.C. Premier Baseball League, was this week named a regional scout for the American League club. Srivastava will work under the Twins Canadian scout, Mark Wilson. Srivastavas duties will include tracking players both potential draft picks and current prospects on the Island and in Vancouver.
The B.C. Premier League has graduated numerous big-name players into the ranks of Major League Baseball, and the Twins are convinced having one of their scouts based in B.C. gives them a leg up in identifying local talent, Srivastava said in a statement.

Vikes to offer coaching clinic
The University of Victoria Vikes womens soccer team is hosting the CIS national championship next week, but the activities wont just be focused on the field.
The Vikes are bringing in Canadas top womens soccer coach to help pass along some tips to prospective coaches on the Island.
