The Victoria HarbourCats are firmly in the driver’s seat for their West Coast League North Division semifinal series against the Wenatchee AppleSox.

Thanks to a 6-2 victory in Game 1 on Tuesday night in Wenatchee, the HarbourCats now have two chances to win the best-of-three series on home turf, including tonight when they host Game 2 at Wilson’s Group Stadium at Royal Athletic Park.

The HarbourCats wasted little time getting their post-season offence going Tuesday, scoring three runs in the first inning courtesy some wild pitching from AppleSox starter Samuel Round, who lasted just two-thirds of an inning with two walks and two hit batters.

Jesse Brown led the HarbourCats offence going 2 for 4 with two RBIs. Starter Daniel Gonzalez got the win, going four innings, allowing no earned runs.
