The Victoria Grizzlies’ blueline got more experienced with the addition this week of Clark Hiebert. The six-foot-three, 205-pound defenceman, from the major-junior Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League, has signed to play this season in the B.C. Hockey League.

The native of Oakville, Ont., who turns 20 this month, had two goals and six assists for eight points in 37 games for the Storm in the shortened 2019-20 OHL season and three goals and 24 assists for 27 points in 53 games in 2018-19 for the Junior A Burlington Cougars of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.

“Clark brings a ton of experience and leadership to our team,” said Grizzlies head coach and GM Craig Didmon.

“His instincts for the defensive side of the game are exceptional and the physicality he brings makes him hard to play against.” — Times Colonist
