Ten curlers from the Campbell River Curling Club unofficially played the longest game, starting last Thursday at 8 a.m. and finishing Saturday night at 9: 45. The curlers - Cody Hall, Andrew Veldhuis, Trevor McClung, Paul Mansueto, Rhys Mansueto, Ed Mullen, Mike Fowler, Cliff Carr-Hilton and John LaPointe - were required to curl one continuous game, four per side with two players rotating in.

Each player got a two-hour break every eight hours but they were not permitted to leave the designated area. There was one five-minute comfort break for every hour curled.

The old record belonged to curlers from the Dumfries Curling Club in Scotland with a game lasting 61 hours 39 minutes and 33 seconds.

The people at Guinness are verifying the game.
