Some readers challenge the notion that it gets cold in Victoria

It's cold outside. Can you feel it? After I bundled my family into the car the other night, we all commented on how cold it was as I rushed to get the heat flowing. When I glanced at the car's temperature reading, it mockingly revealed it was 6 C.

Even though it's from last year, proof that it does get cold in Victoria.

It's cold outside. Can you feel it?

After I bundled my family into the car the other night, we all commented on how cold it was as I rushed to get the heat flowing.

When I glanced at the car's temperature reading, it mockingly revealed it was 6 C.

I don't know about you, but I love living in a place where 6 C is cold.

Of course it's a wet cold, or so we tell Albertans and their dry-cold -25 C.

We had a story about this earlier in the week (udpated today) that advised readers to brace for the coming cold snap with overnight temperatures dipping to an unfathomable -2 C.

It's worth having a look at the Facebook posting of this story, where some of our friends from chillier climates have posted in the comments section screenshots from the weather apps on their smartphones, pointing out what cold really is.

If you are still concerned about this bit of cold weather, editor and blogger Phil Jang has some excellent advice to make sure you and your home are prepared.
