Why cover up the legislature murals?

The photo of a First Nations carving by Kwakwaka'wakw artist Calvin Hunt depicts a female with prominent breasts.

Chief Rande Cook of the Kwak-waka'wakw tribe is quoted as saying, "There's eroticism in our art and it's never been talked about." Then why did the First Nations people force the government to cover up those beautiful murals in the legislative rotunda, because two or three women in the murals were topless?

Those murals, depicting early First Nations life, had been held in high regard by the majority of the visitors to the rotunda and were popular with tourists.
