I find it hilarious that the mayor of View Royal is advocating for another level of government to look at transportation.
Let’s not forget that this is the community that imposed construction delays to the Old Island Highway for over a year, not to improve traffic flow, but to reduce the amount of traffic that can flow through.
The 13 municipal governments that fragment this area are only there to insure the needs of their own communities; they certainly are not interested in the greater good. We should stay far, far away from any suggestions they might have for another service or study.
We should all hope that the provincial government does intervene. After all, most of us voted in the last municipal election that we hoped amalgamation would be considered, and we’ve seen the progress made toward that by our local government.
