Trees can be saved in Sidney mall project

I was dismayed to see that the artist’s rendering of the Sidney Crossing Project eliminates a stunning cluster of evergreens, trees and bushes that grow at this intersection on the west side.

There is no reason to cut down these trees for a boring, flat area of grass/green space that is depicted in the rendering. They do not impede the project in any way and they look beautiful in this location. The trees also help block the noise from air traffic and help break up the starkness of a concrete jungle from a visual standpoint.

Sidney council should insist on keeping these trees at this intersection for esthetic and practical purposes, as Sidney needs more interesting landscaped spaces. Why destroy something of such beauty?
