Too bad the Liberals didn't change name

I'm somewhat saddened that the B.C. Liberal party will be sticking with its name. Though I agree with Colin Hansen that there isn't enough time to rebrand the Liberals before the next election, what really intrigued me was the observation that "one of the challenges is that many of the new names suggested were unavailable because they were already registered with Elections B.C."

There are, in fact, 26 political parties registered with Elections B.C. I would like to know which of those 26 names the Liberals were secretly coveting? Was it The Unparty: The Consensus-Building Party?

Or, perhaps, The Your Political Party of B.C.? Did they consider the somewhat wordy The Platinum Party of Employers Who Think and Act to Increase Awareness? Or did they want to pull out all the stops and go with The Sex Party?

I trust the Times Colonist will continue to dig for the real story. The poor Liberals these days must be feeling like the self-inflicted victim of identity theft. We can only hope the party finds its true self.
