Thumbs Down - To Jamaican runner and Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt, for bragging, "I am the greatest, the greatest ever," rather than letting the achievement speak for itself.
Thumbs Up - To Vancouver cyclists John Lowe and George Chan, who ended their cross-country Journey for Hope in Victoria on Tuesday. Their trip raised awareness about cancer and funds for research.
Thumbs Down - To drivers who do not pay enough attention. The provincial government has announced $3 million to be spent on improving the intersection of the Patricia Bay Highway and Sayward Road - and the major reason the spending is needed is driver inattention.
Thumbs Up - To the developers of the Uptown shopping centre in Saanich. The centre is raising the bar for commercial development in the area, and proving doubters wrong.
