Teens able to make important decisions

As an 11-year-old boy, I find this letter hard to believe.

Sixteen-year-olds are usually capable of making decisions that carry weight, such as how they will get jobs to support themselves. I have two questions for those who do not believe in giving 16-year-olds the vote.

Why can you drive at 16, but not get to choose who makes the laws on how to drive until 18?

Why can you be sent to prison as an adult at age 14, but not be able to choose who makes the laws about the justice system until age 18?

Youths should be allowed to have their say at the ballot box because this is the world we are inheriting and we want to be able to show our views on election day.

What is to be afraid of, with teens voting? The “wrong” person being elected?
