The Finance Ministry “brain trust” invents another bizarro scheme to tax B.C. homeowners.
About 1.6 million homeowners stand “accused” of being “potential” speculators. To prove otherwise, the accused/innocent homeowner must provide formal “evidence” to tax administrators, to avoid paying an annual “speculation” tax.
Speculation: The forming of a theory or conjecture without firm evidence. Our elected government formed a theory, based on conjecture, without evidence, the result of which will not solve the problem.
Cheeky: Asking voters to trust them, when they don’t trust us.
