Saanich slate wants to benefit all residents

Slates are nothing new. Former Saanich mayor Frank Leonard ran a type of slate. Go back and look at the 2014 election pictures.

I prefer to call this team a group of educated and community-minded individuals with diverse interests. They are motivated to come together for the benefit of all Saanich residents.

I would also like to remind my fellow voters of two important issues with regard to the elected 2014 councillors.

No. 1 — The old-guard councillors are directly responsible for the destruction of 5,000 trees on Watkiss Way because they would not support the possible green-energy sewer system that Mayor Richard Atwell brought forward.

No. 2 — What about the spyware on Atwell’s computer? Not one of the elected councillors in 2014 supported Atwell. Thank heavens for our B.C. privacy commissioner.

The sad part is that the 2014 elected councillors chose to have an in-house review and no one was held accountable. The big unanswered question is: “Who authorized it?”
