I read the article with alarm. As a longtime resident of Colwood currently living nearby in Metchosin, I am one of countless residents who have enjoyed the magnificent greenspace the Royal Roads land affords us all.
While the article indicated that future development of the property is not a foregone conclusion, any change in the status of this property should adhere to the principle that this unique stand of old-growth forest in the heart of a municipality be protected for the enjoyment of all citizens for generations to come.
