A letter-writer suggests Premier Christy Clark's recent derogatory remarks about Victoria were ill-considered and will do little to help the B.C. Liberal Party's chances in the next election.

Re: "Victoria is 'sick,' Clark says," Sept. 19.

Premier Christy Clark says there are "no real people in Victoria" and the "sick culture" is unhealthy.

I was born and raised and still reside in the city of Victoria and I take offence at this statement. We have a lot of different cultures, religions and people from various countries looking for a better life in Canada. Victoria is a city popular with tourists and people from all over Canada and the world looking for this better life for their families, and I have not found another city I would prefer to live in.

If Clark doesn't like coming to Victoria for sessions in the legislature, then perhaps she needs to forget about running for premier of British Columbia, especially after comments like this.

This is why the Liberals have no support on Vancouver Island. She will certainly not be getting my vote next May.
