Poor regional planning cause of transit problems

What an absurd and revealing situation B.C. Transit has got itself into, thanks to the intransigent position of municipalities in Greater Victoria. Where else would you find a public-service transit provider requesting the customers (students, general public and institutions) to change their timetables to accommodate an inadequate service?

It is not B.C. Transit's fault that they cannot deliver an efficient service, and adding more buses and introducing bus priority lanes will not solve the problem. Blame for holding back plans for a light-rail transit system that would ease congestion and provide a reliable service should be laid squarely at the feet of those elected officials who have put LRT on the back burner.

This is about lack of leadership and poor long-term transportation planning, which inevitably affects and does not address the difficult travel conditions transit users have to face now.
