Lunney once railed against MP pensions

Re: "Tax group's billboards target MP pensions," Sept. 7. I remember when James Lunney was a member of the Reform Party and was in Ottawa railing against the MP pensions.

I remember when James Lunney was a member of the Reform Party and was in Ottawa railing against the MP pensions.

Now he's a Conservative MP, and he says about the pensions, "I had no say in the current plan and am willing to go along with any changes that are decided on."

In effect, it isn't his fault he's going to receive a pension of $75,000 per annum if he quits in 2015 - and he is a fine fellow for agreeing that any future changes will be all right with him.
