Look to Brexit vote before deciding on PR

The no side has another option available as the campaign rhetoric heats up for the voting-system referendum — reality. British Columbians just have to look to Britain and the vote to leave the European Union to understand what could lie ahead.

British Columbians just have to look to Britain and the vote to leave the European Union to understand what could lie ahead.

The British people were also both hopeful and took a leap of faith when they voted for Brexit. Facts be damned — they too believed the promises and got caught up in the euphoria. By voting yes, they were supposedly going to be that much better off.

Sound familiar? But look at Britain now that the facts are known. Given the reality of their decision, the smiles have quickly disappeared and those same voters are now marching to demand another vote.

With so many unanswered questions, I’m left wondering why our premier is so reluctant to detail all of the facts before charging into this referendum. Perhaps he fears an informed voter.
