Lack of money buys misery

Having often thought how much human suffering and misery can be avoided if government would really focus on the children, I was greatly moved by this letter.

The misery of child poverty is something that happens in distant places. You see it on TV or read about it in the printed pages, and thus it never really happens at home - next door. But a recent report card published by First Call Child and Youth Family Coalition said B.C.'s poverty rate is 11.5 per cent, cementing its position as the province with the highest overall poverty rate for the 12th year in a row.

They say money can't buy you happiness, but lack of it can certainly purchase misery.
