Invention already used in grain elevators

I do not like to rain on anyone’s parade. However, a device similar to this has been used in Prairie grain elevators since the early 1900s.

It was called a Manlift and used by the elevator agent to lift himself up to 18 metres, in some cases, to the top of the structure to change the grain-bin spouts so grain would go to the selected bin.

Despite the fact that most grain elevators on the Prairies have been demolished, there are still some in use and still using the Manlift.
