Electric-car driver wants more for free

Re: “City should rethink electric-car parking,” letter, Oct. 2. The letter-writer should have received a $5,000 grant when he purchased his Nissan Leaf, which was a gift from taxpayers.

The letter-writer should have received a $5,000 grant when he purchased his Nissan Leaf, which was a gift from taxpayers. He now wants Victoria taxpayers to allow him to leave his car plugged into free parking all day at city parking lots where electricity is paid for by taxpayers, most of whom cannot afford an all-electric vehicle.

I guess he did not install a charging station at his home. Sound right to you?
