The government of Alberta billboard on the Pat Bay Highway tells us that “Trans Mountain Pipeline means more money for roads, schools and hospitals.”
The government of Canada has signed a contract to buy the 65-year-old Trans Mountain pipeline for $4.5 billion. Not a single job will be created purchasing Kinder Morgan’s Canadian assets. Demonstrably, this is $4.5 billion less public revenue available to meet Canadian needs.
The billboard’s false claims could be remedied by simply adding two words: “Trans Mountain Pipeline means more money for roads, schools and hospitals in Texas.”
