If there ever was any doubt about their commitment, national pride and the efforts of our athletes, no matter where they placed or how they performed in competition, it was eliminated completely by Paula Findley.
She demonstrated the enormous pressure she and all athletes are under and also the pride, integrity and commitment to do to their utmost best and how they feel when they fall short of those aspirations. We have seen the joy and elation on wining a medal and the despair and disappointment of losing, but never a loss of integrity, commitment and effort.
Paula took a lot of courage to openly show her disappointment but continued to finish her event. Well done, Paula, and all the other athletes who competed and proudly represented us. You have my admiration and respect.
