BIATHLON

Men 4x7.5km relay — Canada (Scott and Christian Gow, Calgary, Macx Davies, Canmore, Alta., and Brendan Green, Hay River, NWT) finished 11th (1:20:56.8).

CURLING

Men — Canada (Kevin Koe, Edmonton, Marc Kennedy, St. Albert, Alta., Brent Laing, Meaford, Ont., Ben Hebert, Regina, Scott Pfeifer, St. Albert, Alta.) finished fourth after losing to Switzerland 7-5 in the bronze medal match.

FIGURE SKATING

Women’s singles — Kaetlyn Osmond, Marystown, N.L., won the bronze medal with an overall score of 231.02. The medal was Canada’s 27th of the Olympics breaking the previous record of 26 set in 2010 at the Vancouver Winter Olympics. Gabrielle Daleman, Newmarket, Ont., finished 15th with an overall score of 172.46.

FREESTYLE SKIING

Women’s ski cross — Canada’s Kelsey Serwa, Kelowna B.C., won the gold medal, Brittany Phelan, Mont-Tremblant, Que., won the silver medal, Marielle Thompson, Whistler, B.C., did not advance past the 1/8 final, and India Sherret, Cranbrook, B.C., did not finish the 1/8 final.

HOCKEY

MenCanada lost its semifinal matchup versus Germany 4-3. Scoring for the Canadians were Gilbert Brule, Edmonton, Mat Robinson, Calgary, and Derek Roy, Rockland, Ont. Defenceman Chris Lee, MacTier, Ont., assisted on all three goals. Canada advances to the bronze medal game versus the Czech Republic on Saturday. Canada lost in the preliminary round to the Czech Republic 3-2 in a shootout.

SPEED SKATING

Long Track

Men’s 1,000 — Alexandre St-Jean, Quebec City, finished 11th (1:09.24); Vincent De Haitre, Cumberland, Ont., finished 19th (1:09.79); Laurent Dubreuil, Levis, Que., finished 25th (1:10.03).
