A woman was tracked down by a police dog and arrested Wednesday after allegedly crashing a stolen vehicle in the Highlands.

West Shore RCMP said they responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Millstream Road near Lost Lake Road in the Highlands around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Witnesses provided a detailed description to officers of a driver who left the scene uninjured, police said.

Police service dog Halla located a woman hiding in the bushes on the side of the road nearby.

Audrey Moffatt, 27, was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property and breach of probation, because she was under conditions to not be in a vehicle, police said.

West Shore RCMP are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.
