West Shore RCMP are investigating after a B.C. Transit bus hit the centre median on the Trans-Canada Highway near Leigh Road on Thursday night.

The driver and the lone passenger in the bus were treated for minor injuries in hospital.

Police said the bus was northbound just after 6:30 p.m. and lost control when the driver tried to change lanes to exit the highway.

“The preliminary information collected at the scene showed that the rainy weather, along with the accumulation of water on the pavement, were contributing factors to the crash,” said West Shore RCMP Const. Alex Berube.

No charges have been laid.
