West Shore RCMP continue to ask for the public’s assistance as they look for a Langford teen who has not been seen since New Year’s Day.

Andre Courtemanche, 16, was last seen walking near the 2900 block of Cressida Crescent in Langford on Friday. He was reported missing at 7 p.m. and West Shore RCMP are concerned for his safety and well-being.

Investigators are following up on tips from the public and actively working on the case, said West Shore RCMP Cpl. Jon Aldercorn. Police do not believe Courtemanche has a cellphone with him, Aldercorn said.

Search-and-rescue crews from Juan de Fuca and Metchosin assisted with the search on Sunday but teams did not go out on Monday.

Andre is white, about five-foot-10 and 185 pounds. He has light brown hair and a light neck beard. He is known to enjoy the region’s parks and trails and police have asked people who frequent parks and trails in the region to be on the lookout for him.

He was last seen wearing a blue and black plaid fleece coat, blue jogging pants and brown hiking boots and had a headlamp with him.

Anyone with information on Andre’s whereabouts is asked to contact their local police department or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
