West Shore RCMP arrest suspected impaired driver after BMW hits SUV, cyclist

A 48-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving after the BMW she was in rear-ended an SUV and then hit a cyclist.

A BMW hit an SUV and a cyclist on Sooke Road Wednesday, leading to the arrest of a 48-year-old woman on suspicion of impaired driving.

A 48-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving after the BMW she was in rear-ended an SUV and then hit a cyclist.

The cyclist, who was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, was hit when the BMW drove around the SUV after the initial collision.

West Shore RCMP said the incident happened about 5:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 2100-block of Sooke Road. They said they believe the woman was under the influence of narcotics.

She was issued a driving prohibition, her licence was seized and the car was towed.
