Warrant issued for alleged breach of parole

Kevin Markus Pahtayken, who has been living at the Salvation Army New Hope Centre in Nanaimo since mid-August, is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for allegedly breaching the terms of his parole.

The 48-year-old, who also goes by Mark, has not been seen at the centre since Aug. 31. He has an extensive background of offences related to violence, and can be highly unpredictable if he is using illicit drugs, police said.

Pahtayken, who is aboriginal, is about five-foot-eight with short brown hair and brown eyes. He has a scar below his right eye, a surgical scar on his stomach and a prominent gang tattoo that says Red Alert on his stomach. He has a number of tattoos on his arms, including a rose and a wizard, and one on his neck.
