Victoria police are continuing their search for witnesses after a random early-morning assault in the area of Broad and Johnson streets in March.
Officers were called about 2:45 a.m. on March 26 after two women in their 60s suffered serious injuries in an attack while waiting for a taxi.
The attacker fled before police arrived.
He is described as an Indigenous man in his early 20s. He was wearing a T-shirt with a graphic design, a black windbreaker, dark blue jeans and a dark baseball cap with a flat brim.
Police said they have a suspect and have determined that he was in the nearby Paparazzi nightclub that night, using the name “CJX.” He sang a duet with a man named “Royce,” described as an older man with a grey hair and beard. Royce is believed to have been associated with somebody in a wheelchair.
No motive for the attack has been found.
Police ask anyone with information to call Victoria police at 250-995-7654 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
