Victoria police called to downtown courthouse for bomb threat

Police officers were at the Victoria courthouse on Burdett Avenue responding to a report of a bomb threat Wednesday morning. Victoria police spokesman Const. Cam MacIntyre said the building was evacuated.

Police officers were at the Victoria courthouse on Burdett Avenue responding to a report of a bomb threat Wednesday morning.

Victoria police spokesman Const. Cam MacIntyre said the building was evacuated. Officers with bomb-detection dogs have conducted an exterior sweep and are investgating inside to ensure there are no suspicious packages, he said.

Police said the building was cleared by about 12:45 p.m., and people could return to work.
