Victoria police arrested 23 people Wednesday in a daylong project focused on locating individuals wanted on warrants in Victoria and Esquimalt.

Victoria police arrested 23 people Wednesday in a daylong project focused on locating individuals wanted on warrants in Victoria and Esquimalt.

The men and women were wanted for a variety of offences, including assault, sexual interference involving a youth, driving while prohibited, breaking and entering, mischief and breaching probation.

Police started the warrant enforcement project with the arrests of two federal offenders who were wanted for not returning to their residential correction facility on Tuesday. Officers located Jonathon Muzychka and Dean Reber near Vancouver Street and Pandora Avenue around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, following a tip from the public.
