Two slightly injured in car-bus collision near Uptown in Saanich

Injuries were minor Monday morning when a car collided with a bus on Saanich Road, next to Uptown. Saanich police were called just before 8 a.m. The car’s driver and passenger were taken to hospital for treatment, said Saanich police Acting Sgt.

The driver of the car received a ticket for failing to yield to the bus on Saanich Road, police said.

Injuries were minor Monday morning when a car collided with a bus on Saanich Road, next to Uptown.

Saanich police were called just before 8 a.m.

The car’s driver and passenger were taken to hospital for treatment, said Saanich police Acting Sgt. Jereme Leslie.

He said the crash happened when the eastbound car turned in front of the westbound bus. The car’s driver was ticketed for failing to yield.

B.C. Transit spokesman Jonathon Dyck said there were 40 passengers seated and two standing at the time of the incident, with none reporting injuries.

“We’re aware of the incident and we’re working with police,” he said.
