Two more people opposed to the logging of old-growth forests on southern Vancouver Island were arrested Saturday by RCMP for breaching a court-ordered injunction.

The arrests took place at the Fairy Creek encampment near Port Renfrew where police have been focussing their efforts for the past several days. The protesters were transported to the RCMP detachment in Lake Cowichan.

Since enforcement began in May, the RCMP have made 172 arrests. At least nine people have been arrested more than once.

Greater Victoria seniors are expected to travel to the Fairy Creek watershed again Monday to show their support for environmentalists who have blockading logging roads since last August.
