Five Vancouver Island schools have recorded COVID-19 exposures, including three on the south Island.

Cloverdale Traditional School, Oaklands Elementary School and Ecole John Stubbs all have recent exposures, along with Cedar Elementary School south of Nanaimo and Highland Secondary School in Comox.

The exposure at Cloverdale happened Monday, Oaklands exposure was linked to May 10, 11, 13 or 14, and John Stubbs’ was May 5 or 6.

A school COVID-19 exposure is defined as a case or cases at a school during the communicable period.

School officials work with public health to ensure close contacts of those with the virus are notified. Students are advised to continue going to school if they are not contacted by public-health staff.
