Suspect in school spitting incident identified

Saanich police say a suspect in a spitting incident on the grounds of a middle school has been identified. A woman is alleged to have spat in a staff member’s face after being asked to leave the grounds.

Saanich police say a suspect in a spitting incident on the grounds of a middle school has been identified.

A woman is alleged to have spat in a staff member’s face after being asked to leave the grounds.

Police said the woman entered the school grounds during recess without a mask on May 14 and began telling children that COVID-19 was not real and masks don’t have to be used.

Assault is a possible charge in such an incident, police said.

No charges have been laid.
