North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP recovered a stolen van Monday that was loaded with stolen property, and quickly made a pair of arrests.
A truck-rental company reported to police that a lock box had been broken into during the night to get keys to steal the van.
Officers located the van in the driveway of a house suspected to be a hub for distributing stolen property. They saw a 23-year-old woman running from the van when they arrived and took her into custody.
A 37-year-old suspect was caught soon after while attempting to steal children’s backpacks from a school playground.
